my boyfriend does draws and paints very good art work and also has original ideas for comics and has a few made. but we dont know where to sell his artwork too or how to get it noticed, where to apply for or anything. same with the comic books, we dont know where to try to get them in at or even how, anyone with knowledge on this please let me know. id appreciate it.
If you can have your comics made at kinko’s or the sort make up a dozen(may not be cheep) and try your local comic book shop. My local
comic book shop lets local comic book artists make their own comics
AND sell them at the comic shop. Make sure to COPY WRIGHT your work and/or TRADE MARK YOUR CHARACTERS. unfortunately there are seemingly lots of unscrupulous people out there. Also try
Diamond Distributors see if they can point you in the wright direction.
Simple steps first.
Have you tried posting some examples on http://www.deviantart.com ? You’d be surprised just how many have been scouted or even just approached by individuals for single pieces.
The main thing is get the drawings out there with his name. Join groups online and network. There will always be someone who knows another who can help. You just need to do your part and reach them.
Go to Comic Company ’s websites Or Publishers and look for contact info/portfolio requirements. The other thing to do is go to the comic book conventions where they all are and attend the portfolio review sessions (comic-con int’l, wizard world, etc) and they will look at your art and see if you are good enough to work with them.

Like the other’s have said, Try posting some samples on the web first. Start out by going to places like Deviantart.com or Sheezyart.com Those are excellant places to get noticed. From there you can do comissions (I think that’s how you spell them) which is basically people paying you to draw them a picture.
You can also try going to comic/anime conventions to sell your comics. Many people go to them and it’s a fun enviroment with many other people just like you.
