My 15 year old daughter and I watched the movie Precious together. It was such a powerful movie we sat and cried through the whole movie. It really opened my daughter’s eyes to situations that she herself have never had to deal with. Someitmes you appreciate your life more when you realize that other people have such a terrible situation to deal with. However, the movie also gave hope that it doesn’t matter what you are born into you, but how you go out of this world that matters.
The only question my daughter and I have is what ever happened to Precious? Where is she now? The ending left us hanging and we have been searching the internet to see what became of her. Anyone know?Posted in Movies on 19 December 2009

Just came back and so upset. Oprah can you please product a cartoon for black girls. I felt this was a story about a white princess and and a green frog.
I sat there so happy and so excited ….and my first image hit me in the chest so hard….and I can not believe my three beautiful daughters were watching this. Once again all we see the black as not having such…always in position that even a fairy tale movie can not dream her out of. So sad and disappointing. I was surprise to learn later you played the mother. Love you Oprah but this was the ultimate slap in the face. My kids only thought of her as a frog. Insulting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie.
I mean, I grew up with all the Disney princesses, so the little girl inside me just can’t wait to see a brand new princess! Right down to the beautiful gown!
Ok that just sounded sad, but also I’m keep to see what the Disney version of New Orleans is like.
